Lava Tower
The highlight of today’s climb is a visit to the Lava Tower, one of Kilimanjaro’s most famous landmarks. Situated at an altitude of around 4,600 meters, the Lava Tower is a natural volcanic rock pillar that stands prominently on the desolate plateau, creating a truly spectacular sight. Although the elevation here is high, this location is not a campsite but rather a short stop for climbers to acclimatize to the altitude. This gradual adjustment helps reduce the risk of altitude sickness while preparing for the challenges ahead.
