Key aspects of this tour

Journey Through the Majestic Arctic Realm of Spitsbergen

Begin your polar journey in Norway, venturing into the remote and mysterious Svalbard archipelago—an icy frontier between the Norwegian mainland and the North Pole. With Norway’s advanced polar logistics, rich expedition heritage, and dedication to environmental preservation, it is among the most recommended gateways to the Arctic.

The Arctic is a land of extremes—where the sun never sets in summer and never rises in winter. Its isolated beauty captivates with endless icefields, drifting glaciers, and free-roaming wildlife that evoke both awe and reverence. In a time of rapid climate change, witnessing this fragile and majestic world firsthand is both timely and deeply moving.

At the center of Svalbard lies Spitsbergen, famed for its expansive glaciers, dramatic fjords, and thriving wildlife. As summer melts the ice, hidden landscapes emerge, attracting polar bears, whales, seals, and seabirds. This voyage takes you deep into these wild territories, visiting historic settlements, polar churches, and Arctic museums—blending raw nature with human history.

Over eight days, cruise from Longyearbyen to explore Raudfjord’s glacier-lined bays, the awe-inspiring Monaco Glacier, and the remote Seven Islands. Navigate through sea ice to spot Arctic wildlife in their natural habitat. This expedition is a rare opportunity to experience the untouched wonders of the High Arctic—where each day brings new sights, silence, and stories.

The Arctic fox changes its appearance with the seasons, donning a pure white coat in winter and a brown-gray fur in summer. Its fluffy fur and adorable face are captivating to watch.

You may be lucky enough to see it swiftly darting across the ice or observing its careful movements as it hunts, showcasing the cunning and agility of this resilient creature.
Reindeer, often seen grazing in herds, create a mystical scene that blends perfectly with the Arctic landscape. In certain areas, you’ll have the opportunity to observe these majestic creatures, with their impressive antlers, up close and in their natural habitat.
The Arctic skies are alive with a diverse array of seabirds, including the colorful and charming puffin, the dynamic seagulls soaring above, the albatross gracefully gliding at great heights, and the incredible Arctic terns, known for their astounding migrations.

Witnessing these birds lightly darting across the rugged waves is a truly unique Arctic spectacle, showcasing the beauty and vitality of the region’s avian life.

Information

Arctic Expedition Preparation Guide
This cruise offers an unforgettable journey, featuring encounters with incredible wildlife, visits to breathtaking landscapes, and explorations of historical sites. In some cases, guided tours of scientific research facilities may also be included.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the polar environment, our itinerary may be adjusted based on weather conditions, wildlife activity, and ice formations. Each voyage is a unique adventure, shaped by the ever-changing Arctic landscape.

Unlike Antarctica, where rental services are available in Ushuaia, there are no such services in Longyearbyen.

We provide high-quality waterproof and insulated neoprene hiking boots with non-slip soles, but passengers are responsible for bringing their own jackets, pants, gloves, and other essential cold-weather gear.

While the onboard shop offers a selection of gear and clothing, we highly recommend that you bring your own well-prepared equipment.

There’s no need for a full expedition suit—a functional, layered system with waterproof and windproof outerwear will be sufficient to keep you warm and comfortable throughout the journey.
Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Restrictions
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth usage is strictly prohibited within a 20km radius of Kongsfjorden and Ny-Ålesund Research Station in Norway.
These signals can interfere with Norwegian Geodetic Institute’s GPS calibration, and their use is regulated by law.
All passengers and crew must turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on their electronic devices.
Cameras are allowed, but must be set to "Airplane Mode."

Life Jackets & Safety Training
A mandatory evacuation drill (including life jacket and lifeboat usage) will be conducted on the first day of boarding.
Life jackets must be worn when boarding a Zodiac boat and in case of emergency.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited throughout the ship, except in designated deck areas.
Smoking near Zodiacs or engine areas is strictly forbidden due to fuel-related hazards.
Do not dispose of cigarette butts overboard to protect the environment.
Zodiac Landing Conditions
Depending on weather and terrain, landings may be classified as “wet landings” (where feet may get wet) or “dry landings” (where you stay dry).
Due to potential exposure to water, waterproof clothing and boots are mandatory.
Passengers without appropriate gear may not be allowed to land for safety reasons.
Tipping Guidelines
Tipping for the ship’s service staff is optional but recommended.
A suggested amount is €10–15 (or equivalent in USD) per person per day.
Tips should be placed in a single envelope and submitted on the final day of the cruise, after which they will be evenly distributed among the crew.
Environmental Protection Rules
The fundamental principle is: “Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories.”
A mandatory briefing will be conducted before each landing to outline specific behavioral guidelines for designated areas.
Emergency Procedures
Each cabin is equipped with a large orange life jacket for emergency use.
The onboard medical facility provides basic first aid, but in the case of a severe emergency, evacuation may be required.
