Egypt: Where it all begins
One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramid, is a monumental testament left behind by ancient Egypt. The arid deserts, stunning coral reefs, and the Red Sea. The city on the Nile, nurtured by an ancient civilization.
The Nile region is home to a concentration of temples, tombs and palaces of ancient Egyptian New Kingdom kings. The famous ruins such as the temples of Abu Simbel are a masterpiece!
From the current southern border of Egypt up to the area around Aswan was known as 'Upper Egypt,' while the Nile Delta north of Cairo was called 'Lower Egypt.' These two regions together formed the two major areas of ancient Egypt. In the past, separate dynasties often ruled each region, frequently vying for supremacy.
If you want to enjoy lush and beautiful scenery in Egypt, a Nile cruise on a small sailboat called a 'felucca' is highly recommended! For an even more comfortable and luxurious experience, you can opt for a large cruise boat. Departing from Aswan, you'll sail north to Luxor, passing by major cities, temples, and ancient ruins along the way.

Giza
If you want to know about ancient Egypt, you can’t miss the Great Pyramid of Giza on the outskirts of Kaiza. The only surviving structure of the Seven Wonders of the World, known as the Pyramid of Khufu. You will feel like a dwarf and be overwhelmed by this massive structure. Giza is a so-called complex pyramid, and besides this there are two larger pyramids (Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure). If you walk a few steps to the east, you will see three small mountains about 20m high. This is the Queen’s Pyramid, that is, the tomb of Khufu’s wife and sisters. Nearby are the Great Sphinx and the Solar Boat Museum. A light show is held and you can experience camel riding.
I want to take a picture in the landscape of my dreams in Egypt! I want to ride a camel! If such a dream can come true, it is still here in Giza! It is a very popular attraction for tourists visiting Giza. Riding a camel around the pyramids is a good idea, but we recommend taking a walk while exploring the desert behind the pyramids. Stand in the desert just before sunset and enjoy the magnificent golden world of the pyramids. At the same time, listen to the mystical and melodious prayers that rise from hundreds of mosques and immerse yourself in the exotic atmosphere. Always negotiate the price first before riding a camel.

Seasons to travel
Summer is the hottest time of the year, with daytime highs reaching nearly 40°C. There is almost no humidity and it is dry. Be sure to take all possible measures against the heat and the sun, such as sunshades and sunglasses. The maximum temperature drops to around 20°C. You can comfortably wear a long-sleeved shirt during the day, but it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings. Depending on the location, the lowest temperature can drop below 10°C, so it’s a good idea to bring a jacket or coat.
Best time to visit Egypt. Although it is winter in Egypt, it is quite warm compared to winter in Japan. The weather remains comfortable during the day. However, due to the cold mornings and evenings, the temperature difference between the daytime and the daytime can be more than 10℃. Don’t forget to prepare cold weather measures!
The temperature drops dramatically in the capital Cairo, Alexandria, and the western desert area. Overall, it’s comfortable during the day, but the mornings and evenings get colder. Depending on the area you visit, you may need to take measures against the cold.
Watch out for ham scenes (sandstorms)! During March, April, and May, sandstorms called Hamsheen often occur. It is a phenomenon in which the dust of the desert is carried along with the hot wind, and the whole area is wrapped in a thick fog due to a sandstorm. If a hum scene occurs, it may lead to flight delays or cancellations, so be sure to check the local weather information frequently. A scarf and sunglasses that cover your mouth are convenient for sunshine and dust protection.
